Sano Centre for Computational Medicine is a new International Scientific Foundation located in Kraków, Poland.

Sano aspires to be a major translational scientific institute, operating at the meeting point of academic science, established MedTech industry, and emerging start-up environment, combining the best of these three perspectives.

Sano acts as a core technology and expertise provider for industry, and creator of innovation, developing state-of-the-art solutions for healthcare. Thanks to the substantial funding and excellent European partnership network, Sano will bring a critical mass to this transformational field of research, in order to translate scientific advancements onto clinical practice. Sano’s ambition is to become the Reference Centre for Computational Medicine in Central Europe and build a reputation as a leading institute on a global level.

As a cross-disciplinary institution, Sano uses machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI), large scale computer simulations (HPC), data science, and other computational technologies towards overcoming global challenges in healthcare systems. The research agenda will be executed in close collaboration with Partners in Poland, EU and USA.

We are looking for a Human Talent Manager to support our research Centre (40 + employees) based in Krakow, Poland. You will be responsible for managing our Human Talent department which role in Sano is to lead processes designed to develop talent and recruitment of researchers, scientific programmers, and support staff. You will also provide necessary knowledge to enhance our current activities in learning and development, performance management, talent management and employer branding.

Partner with the management and leadership team to understand and execute the Sano human resource and talent acquisition/retainment strategy.
Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring.
Provide support and guidance to management and other staff to address sensitive questions and issues that may arise. Participate in solving conflict situations, act as an employee advocate.
Participate in periodic consultations (aka assessment) of Sano employees, provide constructive and timely feedback.
Collaborate with the management and research leadership to understand competencies required for openings.
Collaborate with funding agencies and external partners supporting Sano.
Research and propose compensation base to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
Create learning and development programs to support internal training opportunities for employees.
Lead the implementation of the “Gender Equality Plan”.
Elaborate and lead process aiming at obtaining by Sano the „Excellence in HR in Research” award.

As our successful candidate you should have:

Human resource management experience a similar level, preferably in a research institution in the area life science, medicine, IT.
Experience in international talent acquisition, attracting experts from different countries.
Experience with ATS and other tools for candidate management/pipelining.
Experience in preparing and implementing on-boarding programs, learning and development systems, performance management, talent development, employer branding.
Broad experience in leading processes designed to develop talent – talent assessment, succession planning, career pathing, performance review.
Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English and Polish.
