NEUROPIZZA #8: Can machine learning improve the lives of people with epilepsy? Aleksandra Pestka

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders characterized by the occurrence of spontaneous seizures. In order to improve the quality of life of a patient with epilepsy, researchers try to answer the fundamental question of whether seizures are predictable. Therefore, they are developing robust seizure prediction methods based on intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) signals which act as a diagnostic tool. Within the context of building a reliable predictor, the application of deep learning methods like Convolutional Neural Network will be discussed.

Because together with the Institute of Psychology we organize NEUROPIZZA meetings.
