Introduction to Verily Life Science

  • Abstract

Verily Life Sciences, also known as Google Life Science, is Alphabet Inc.’s research organization devoted to the study of life sciences. Verily’s work is dedicated to collecting, organizing and activating health information so people enjoy healthier lives. In this talk,  we will talk about how Verily is leveraging data science and technology to build integrated solutions for chronic disease management, clinical research and innovation. 

Dr. Yugang Jia is a data science manager in Verily Life Sciences (formerly known as Google Life Sciences) since 2020. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Bristol, UK, in 2007. He was Vice President of healthcare data science at Fidelity Investments from 2017-2019 and senior scientist/innovation lead at Philips Research from 2007 to 2017. His research interests are mainly in data science/artificial intelligence and their application in digital health and clinical informatics.
