Sano Centre for Computational Medicine is a new International Scientific Foundation located in Kraków, Poland.

Sano aspires to be a major translational scientific institute, operating at the meeting point of academic science, established MedTech industry, and emerging start-up environment, combining the best of these three perspectives.

Established with support from the European Commission and the Foundation for Polish Science, Sano aims to be a major driving force behind the advancement of computational medicine for the benefit of healthcare systems worldwide.

Sano acts as a core technology and expertise provider for industry, and creator of innovation, developing state-of-the-art solutions for healthcare. Thanks to the substantial funding and excellent European partnership network, Sano will bring a critical mass to this transformational field of research, in order to translate scientific advancements onto clinical practice. As a cross-disciplinary institution, Sano uses machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI), large scale computer simulations, data science, and other computational technologies towards overcoming global challenges in healthcare systems. The research agenda will be executed in close collaboration with Partners in Poland, EU and USA.

  • About job:

We’re looking for an established specialist in fundraising and grant acquisition specialist to join our expanding team at Sano. Grant and Fundraising Specialist will be heavily involved in activities related to acquisition of funds (incl. European framework programs) in a strong collaboration with researchers and other Sano employees to ensure further expansion and development of the center. The role will report directly to the Director of Development.

  • What are you going to do?

You will work in a collaborative environment, together with other data and software engineers, computational medicine researchers, and medical doctors.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Active participation in planning and realization of Sano’s activities related to acquisition of funds, including European framework programs, polish operational programs and others;
  • Participation in the creation of R&D consortia and the management of their operations;
  • Collaboration with research teams including Research Team Leaders as well as the third parties;
  • Creation of project documentation according to the rules and regulations of a given program;
  • Operational contact with institutions responsible for project realization and project / WP leads;
  • Preparation of periodic and final reports;
  • Close collaboration with project managers within Sano;
  • Acquisition of funding from i.e., seed and VC capitals, private investors / angel and others.
  • What do we require ?

As our successful candidate you should have:

  • 3 years of professional experience in grant applications, realization of R&D project financed from European Framework / Horizon Projects and grant settlement;
  • Higher education – economy, biotechnology, bioinformatics, computer science or relevant preferred;
  • Fluent English in writing and speech min. C1 level.
